19 of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been won on hard surfaces

A resurgent Medvedev secured his initial championship for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The Russian, a former world number one, has endured a challenging period, winning just one match at the major tournaments and undergoing a meltdown at the American major.

Medvedev's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serve in especial - caused him dropping out of the elite rankings and finally separating with long-term trainer Cervara.

Presently collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, he has gradually improved in the recent weeks - culminating in a tightly fought competitive win over opponent Corentin Moutet.

This marks his initial championship following the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard surface from spring of 2023.

Victory also signifies he has achieved twenty-one championships at twenty-one different tournaments.

"It's the first time I am participating in a event with my two daughters at once, so to get a championship is really nice," said world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I achieved when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six finals, featuring in that event previously this season.

The player's defensive approach and regular emotional displays on the tennis court had caused observers to doubt if his ability to compete at the top level was finished.

However the player has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and perform aggressively, backed up by an better serve.

The champion fought back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the difficult opponent, taking four of the last five points to take the lead.

The competitors exchanged break points in the second set before Moutet, striving for his initial professional victory, seized the initiative to push for a decider.

Moutet defended four early-game chances in a close third set before the Russian won the break to that score to close out the victory.

Suitably, Medvedev secured the win with a shot at the net, with Moutet incapable to handle a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
